QNu Labs Secures INR 60 Cr in Series A to Revolutionize Quantum-Safe Cybersecurity

QNu Labs, a pioneering quantum cybersecurity startup, has secured INR 60 Cr (approximately $7 million) in a Series A funding round led by the National Quantum Mission (NQM). This strategic investment round also witnessed participation from prominent investors such as Lucky Investment, Speciale Invest, Tenacity Ventures, and Singularity AMC. With this significant capital infusion, QNu Labs aims to accelerate its commercial operations, enhance its research and development capabilities, and establish global partnerships in quantum-safe communications.

Founded in 2016 and incubated at IIT Madras Research Park, QNu Labs specializes in providing quantum and post-quantum cryptography solutions using patented technologies that ensure confidentiality and privacy against evolving cyber threats. Their quantum-safe cryptography solutions are designed to safeguard critical data and communications infrastructures, which are increasingly vulnerable to quantum computing’s disruptive potential.

Quantum computers, being more advanced than classical computers, can potentially undermine existing encryption methods and expose critical data. The advent of quantum computing presents a unique challenge for traditional cybersecurity, prompting the need for quantum-safe solutions. QNu Labs is at the forefront of this change, offering hardware-based quantum-safe solutions that can effectively secure sensitive data in a quantum future.

With this support, we’re accelerating our mission to build a secure digital future powered by indigenous quantum technologies,” said Sunil Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of QNu Labs. The funds will support the global rollout of QShield, the company’s quantum security-as-a-service platform, taking it closer to providing world-class cybersecurity solutions for businesses globally.

The government of India, through the National Quantum Mission, has shown strong support for quantum technologies. NQM, launched in 2023, has been pivotal in promoting quantum research in sectors such as cryptography, communication, and computing. With a projected budget of INR 6,003 Cr between 2023–2031, the mission aims to solidify India’s position as a global leader in quantum technology. QNu Labs is among the eight startups supported by NQM, and it is one of the few globally, and the first in India, to offer commercially ready, hardware-based quantum-safe solutions.

India’s cybersecurity market is growing rapidly and is expected to reach $6 billion by 2023. As the market expands, QNu Labs’ contribution to quantum-safe cybersecurity is vital to securing sensitive information in a world increasingly threatened by cyber attacks and evolving technologies.

With its groundbreaking solutions, QNu Labs is on a mission to lead the charge in securing the digital future of tomorrow through quantum-safe encryption, ensuring that India remains at the forefront of global cybersecurity innovation.
