The Guardian Media Group has announced the appointment of Douglas McCabe as its new Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer, a key leadership move as the organisation continues its global growth and digital expansion.
McCabe will join the Guardian later this year from Enders Analysis, where he has served as CEO for 12 years, playing a pivotal role in shaping the media industry’s understanding of digital disruption, commercial strategy, and innovation. His work has spanned hundreds of influential reports and close advisory support to media organisations across the UK and internationally.
In his upcoming role, Douglas will lead the Guardian’s strategic initiatives, transformation programmes, and manage global partnerships, including platform collaborations and business development opportunities. As part of the Guardian’s senior executive team, he will sit on the executive committee, driving long-term strategic planning across international markets.
Anna Bateson, CEO of Guardian Media Group, shared her enthusiasm about the appointment:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Douglas to the Guardian at a defining time for the news industry. His exceptional expertise will be instrumental as we continue to grow our global footprint and invest in quality journalism that is open and accessible to all. His understanding of the evolving media landscape will be key as we strengthen our digital and international strategy.”
