The AI Alliance Network has strengthened its international footprint, growing to 28 organisations across 21 countries with the launch of its first AI Horizons global foresight report. Drawing insights from more than 270 researchers across 36 countries, the project offers one of the most diverse and multi-regional perspectives on the future of artificial intelligence. The study combines 21 strategic sessions and 32 expert interviews, positioning AI Horizons as a rare collaborative research model one that moves beyond national, academic, and cultural silos to build a shared understanding of AI’s global trajectory.
Why This Matters
AI research has historically been dominated by single countries or institutions, often concentrated in Western and proprietary ecosystems.
The AI Alliance’s approach signals a shift toward distributed, inclusive knowledge-building, ensuring emerging economies and non-Western perspectives help shape AI futures.By creating a multi-country research framework, the Alliance is aiming to:
- decentralise AI knowledge production,
- reduce regional bias in AI projections,
- promote cooperative governance, and
- accelerate cross-border scientific exchange.
Leadership Perspectives
Alexander Vedyakhin, Chairman, Russian Alliance Supervisory Board, highlighted the initiative’s global value:
“AI development scenarios are often shaped by Western academic dominance, leaving many nations behind. AI Horizons shows that science has no borders the future of AI must be shaped collectively, respecting diversity of knowledge, cultures, and values.”
Professor Ajith Abraham, Vice Chancellor, Sai University, India, commended the Alliance’s platform-driven model:
“This is an ambitious study bringing together the global scientific community. The Alliance has proven to be an effective platform for scientific cooperation.”
The Strategic Implication
AI Horizons positions the Alliance as a neutral, multinational foresight hub, capable of:
- influencing global AI policy thinking,
- shaping early governance frameworks,
- building shared research agendas, and
- driving scalable international projects in responsible AI.
In an era where AI regulation, safety, and access have become geopolitical questions, a collective foresight mechanism may become one of the most powerful tools in shaping a fair and collaborative future.
The AI Alliance Network isn’t just expanding it’s redefining how the world studies, forecasts, and governs AI. With a growing 28-member coalition and a borderless research framework, AI Horizons sets the foundation for multi-country innovation, knowledge exchange, and shared responsibility in AI’s long-term evolution.A global future for AI requires global research this initiative makes that real.
