Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have introduced Helios, a rack-scale AI architecture aimed at powering sovereign AI factories in India through HyperVault AI Data Centre Limited.

The platform integrates AMD Instinct MI455X GPUs, EPYC “Venice” CPUs, AMD Pensando Vulcano NICs, and ROCm™ software, creating a high-performance, open AI infrastructure stack. Designed for hyperscalers, enterprises, and large-scale AI deployments, Helios focuses on performance, efficiency, and long-term flexibility.

Chair and CEO Lisa Su highlighted that AI is rapidly shifting from pilot programs to full-scale deployments, demanding a new blueprint for compute infrastructure. Meanwhile, TCS MD & CEO K Krithivasan emphasized that the collaboration lays the foundation for AMD’s first Helios-powered AI infrastructure in India—blending AI expertise, connectivity, sustainable power, and advanced data centre engineering.

Strategically, the move underscores India’s push toward sovereign AI capacity, reducing reliance on global hyperscaler ecosystems while enabling domestic AI innovation at scale.

Overall, Helios signals a shift from isolated AI experimentation to infrastructure-led intelligence positioning India as a serious contender in the global AI compute race.
