Sumil Mathur has joined Sterlite Electric as Group CFO, bringing nearly 30 years of cross-sector financial leadership to the energy infrastructure major.
Mathur’s experience spans senior roles at Emaar India, HCL Infosystems, Indus Towers, Bharti Airtel, and JCB. His mandate will extend across Sterlite Electric, Resonia Ltd., and Serentica Renewables, overseeing financial strategy, risk governance, and enterprise transformation.
Strategically, the appointment comes at a time when India’s energy ecosystem is witnessing accelerated investments in transmission, renewables, and grid modernisation. Strong financial stewardship and capital allocation discipline will be critical to sustaining infrastructure-led growth while managing regulatory and execution risks.
Mathur’s multi-industry exposure positions him to align operational scale with sustainable financial frameworks balancing expansion with long-term resilience.
Overall, the move strengthens Sterlite Electric Group’s leadership bench as it advances India’s energy transition and infrastructure ambitions.
