Mobility platform Rapido has officially launched Ownly, a standalone food delivery app positioned as a zero-commission alternative in India’s competitive food-tech space.
Founder Aravind Sanka says Ownly is built on transparent pricing and restaurant-first economics, aiming to reduce dependency on high-commission marketplace models.
Following pilot runs in Koramangala, HSR Layout, and BTM Layout in Bengaluru, the platform will leverage Rapido’s hyperlocal logistics network to scale efficiently across the city.
The move signals a bold attempt to disrupt entrenched players by prioritizing partner margins over platform take rates.
Bottom line: In India’s food delivery wars, zero-commission could become the next big competitive lever.
