LOS GATOS, Calif., June 24, 2025 Netflix, Inc. today announced that Ellie Mertz, Chief Financial Officer at Airbnb, has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Mertz will also join the board’s audit committee.

Mertz has been serving as Chief Financial Officer at Airbnb, Inc. a global platform for accommodations and experiences since March 2024. In this role, she oversees Airbnb’s global finance functions, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, tax, treasury, and investor relations. Previously, she was Airbnb’s Vice President of Finance, where she led strategic finance, analytics, and investor relations.
Before joining Airbnb in 2013, Mertz held several finance leadership positions at Netflix, ultimately serving as Vice President of Finance from 2006 to 2013. She is currently a board member at DoorDash, Inc. and Faire Wholesale, Inc.
Mertz holds a B.A. in Science, Technology & Society from Stanford University, an M.A. in History from Stanford, an M.I.A. (Master of International Affairs) from Columbia University, and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
