In a major boost to India’s technology and education landscape, IBM and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have partnered to establish a National AI Lab in New Delhi. The initiative aims to accelerate AI research, innovation, and skill development across India’s vast network of technical institutions.
Powered by IBM SkillsBuild, the lab aligns with IBM’s global ambition to skill 30 million learners by 2030, while equipping India’s youth with future-ready capabilities in data science, machine learning, and applied AI.
Speaking at the launch, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, said, “This collaboration marks a milestone in advancing AI-centric education and research in India. The AICTE–IBM AI Lab will serve as a national model for innovation and capacity building in emerging technologies.”
Justina Nixon-Saintil, Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility and Chief Impact Officer, IBM, added, “At IBM, we believe technology must drive both social good and economic growth. Our partnership with AICTE expands access to digital skills and strengthens India’s innovation pipeline.”
